Garrett West is our Sixth Grade Pastor. He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana and grew up here in Benton. He came to know Christ while in high school. Shortly before graduating, Garrett felt a call to ministry. The next several years of his life included starting college, moving to El Dorado, Arkansas, working in multiple churches across multiple denominations, meeting his wife, Stacie West, and moving back to Benton shortly before his daughter, Kristin West, was born.
After moving back to Benton, Garrett visited churches until he found Cypress. What set Cypress apart from other churches that he visited was the solid Biblical teaching combined with the actions of its members in the community. He, his wife, and his daughter have been active at Cypress ever since.
Garrett plugged into the youth ministry as a volunteer, but over time, he was gradually brought on board to work alongside Gregg Gober. Garrett loves being able to teach students the truth about God, the Gospel, and life. To him, a successful youth ministry is one that takes students from a shallow faith in God to a deep, personal relationship with Christ that pushes them to align their lives more and more with God’s will.
