What does it really mean to believe big?
In this message, "Remember to Believe Big," Pastor John reflects on the incredible ways God has answered prayer and moved through our church as we have prayed Ephesians 3:20 together, believing that God is "able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think." Remembering His faithfulness strengthens our faith for what He desires to do next.
Studying Numbers 13:31–33, Pastor John unpacks the Israelites' response after scouting the Promised Land. While God had already promised them the land, the spies became consumed by the size of the giants instead of the greatness of their God. Fear distorted their perspective and caused them to lose sight of God's faithfulness. In the same way, when we focus on our problems instead of the Lord, our obstacles begin to look bigger than His promises.
This sermon also challenges us to rethink what it means to "believe big." Faith isn't about convincing God to accomplish our plans; it's about trusting that His plans are better than ours. As we pray, "Your will be done," our hearts shift from pursuing what we want to joining God in the work He is already doing. When our faith is rooted in who God is rather than what we hope to receive, we discover the joy of partnering with Him in things far greater than we could accomplish on our own.
